am also very fond of wisteria, Sandrak, many thanks for the comment. Ours is a duller colour than this one. I'd never seen a wisteria that colour before.

thankyou Audra. Am late with this. The strange part is, we went past this house with the wisteria, sometime later, and the vine seemed to have died! It was such a surprise that I didn't even want to look tooo closely, as it was hard to believe. I don't know what the correct spelling is, as the vine was named after the person Caspar Wistar, - so some people spell the vine as Wistaria, but til learning that, had always written it as "wisteria". Believe it can be spelled either way.

I can almost smell those!!

thanks Lulu. hadn't seen this colour wisteria before, ours is the paler lavender colour. Your wedding sounds lovely, it would be great to see some photos if you care to show us some, thanks.

Hi Alandra. This is gorgeous and reminds me also of the garden area where we had our wedding. I had to walk through a long archway that was covered in Wisteria and Clematis. Unfortuately, my husband pruned the Wisteria a bit too harshly and it wasn't in flower for our wedding. The view from our side was the beautiful clematis though so it was all okay.

yes Fiona, that's one of the things about moving, having to leave all the established plants, shrubs etc behind.
Guest - May 08, 2005 10:13 PM EDT
This reminds me of the wisteria at our old house- i miss it so much- wish we could have brought it with us when we moved

Guest - May 04, 2005 02:57 PM EDT
thanks for being so supportive, Carol. It is a wonderful colour. We'd bypassed this lovely Wisteria the previous day, but simply Had to stop the next day! : ) DH does more "going round the block" or backing the vehicle, LOL, so that I can get these shots : ) - plus lots of "waiting patiently" : )
Guest - May 04, 2005 02:40 PM EDT

Guest - May 04, 2005 01:20 PM EDT
why, thankyou Dud. that's a very kind compliment. Love sharing them and am happy you like them : ) Am thinking we must get one of this colour wisteria, - we have one but it's nowhere near as pretty shade of mauve as this one. more greyish blue. infact the flowers aren't even in bloom yet : ) must be in the wrong place.
