Guest - May 03, 2005 12:33 PM EDT Alandra. I'll have to look for those if I ever get up that way again.
Alex. Yes, it is still bursting out. Many of the more delicate wildflowers are already gone. As soon as they feel the least bit of heat, they dry up. But others are taking their place. The cactus flowers will last well into the summer months.
Guest - May 03, 2005 11:44 AM EDT another name for them is "poor man's orchid", - we used to grow them in planters each summer, very pretty. there's another nickname that I can't think of. a dear friend told me about them years ago, so always remember her whenever we see them.
Guest - May 03, 2005 11:39 AM EDT What a nice shot,it looks like the desert is busting out with color now, huh?
Guest - May 03, 2005 07:02 AM EDT There you go. I have never even heard of schizanthus.
Guest - May 03, 2005 01:11 AM EDT oh, guess that answers my earlier question, as if these are the same flowers under the tree, can see now they are not foxgloves. very dainty and pretty, almost like schizanthus.
