great horned owl, he had been scratching his face, you can see the leg movement here, but I didn't capture his foot up at his face. The eye near the area where he was scratching is partially closed here, but the other eye is "watching" and wide open!
The feathers are so beautifully patterned. He was some distance away and quite high up.
