About This Image

this is from quite a distance, looking over towards English Bluff where we live, otherwise known as The Bluff.
This is where the Great Blue Herons and Bald Eagles have their nests. I take the photos from the area to the left of the large condo complex at the right side of photo. This was taken a year ago with my other camera, I should get a new photo.

Very interesting. I looked it up on Mapquest. I'm very surprised to see that little thumb of land (Point Roberts) as being part of the US and no way out by land except to exit into Canada. It sees like it would have made more sense to just have the border drop south to include the point. I think it would be kind of strange to live in the situation the Americans are in, living on that little point of land.

Hi Gary, was facing South here. Interesting that you asked this : ) as I meant to add this in one of the other Where we Live photos, (incase anyone was interested) - but forgot. Our area is surrounded by water on 3 sides. It's on a point of land, which continues on into being Point Roberts, WA which is 5 minutes south of where we live (the border crossing leading to Point Roberts, I mean). Point Roberts is where the land ends, and the only way to leave Point Roberts is by boat or plane, or turn around and come back across the border into Canada again : ) We were over at the Roberts Bank Superport highway when I took this. Across the body of water here, is the highway leading to the BC Ferry terminal, (closeby) taking vehicles and passengers to Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. The tug photos were taken at the ferry terminal that same day. Wanted to capture some shots of the ferry terminal and ferries that day, but it's a bit difficult to find a good vantage point (with all the vehicles waiting to board the ferries : ), - will try again.
