Guest - May 29, 2007 01:25 AM EDT Now I know what is wrong with you.... You have been eating too many of these mushrooms. You say they are edible but I'm sure the are psycodelic in effect. These patterns and shapes hanging from a tree seems like it would be serreal to see in person. I certianly like seeing all these photos of things that I never would see other wise.
Guest - May 23, 2007 10:02 AM EDT Thanks Vicki, Lorraine, Alex and Cindy! The forest was full of these Dryads saddles, but this group caught my attention for some reason. I didn't have a tripod with me so I had my camera laying on top of the camera bag. They do look like oyster shells Cindy. They smell like watermelon rind, and while edible they taste about the same :-(. Don
Guest - May 23, 2007 01:54 AM EDT Just looking at this great photo again, the fungi actually look like big oyster shells embedded in the tree!
Guest - May 22, 2007 06:08 PM EDT This is such a cool photo Don. Many times I have seen fungi growing like this and wished now I had photographed it. Maybe its time to slow down and catch these opportunities!
