About This Image

I desperately want some feedback on the other photos in my gallery, so I thought I would post a couple of "what's this" pics. When I get a satisfactory amount of constructive feedback on my other pics, I will reveal all (unless of course someone makes a correct guess - which isn't unlikely). Happy guessing, and don't forget to look at, and comment on the rest of my gallery. Thanks!!!!

Ahhh, Lulu told me last night what this was. Had us all fooled! Well done Shiz.

Yes Shirree, Koi are illegal but if they are fully contained and there is no way for them to get into waterways, I think they are okay. Well, I hope thats the case as we have them in out pond. Alandra, we don't have to worry about racoons or herons with our ponds here. We have found a problem with Kingfishers getting our smaller fish but in saying that, the Koi tend to dominate the smaller fish and I think they even eat them.

Sorry Alandra - I didn't thank you for your comment. Nice to hear your story - but it is a shame you missed the heron. Poor guy probably didn't stick around long anyway if you had nothing for it to eat.

The cover on our pond is to protect children from drowning in it - rather than to protect the fish. In NZ I don't think we are allowed Koi in our fishponds. They cause havoc in our waterways with our native wildlife (eat their food etc), so I guess it is to help stop people "getting rid of them" in the waterways when they get too big or whatever. I could have got this a little wrong - so if there are any fellow kiwis out there who can enlighten us further please do.

oh, that's neat : ) people around here have to do that to protect the fish in their fishponds, from great blue herons and raccoons, which both steal the fish from the ponds, LOL. Altho, it's not funny if you have spent a lot of money on some prized Koi, : ) expensive meal for herons and raccoons. We had a Great Blue heron land here on our patio lilypond last winter, during our one snowfall. DH saw the heron, I missed it, but saw the prints in the snow beside the pond, and on the vehicle in driveway, where he landed first, before flapping over to the pond. No fish in our pond tho, so he was outof luck

Not quite Alandra, but good guess. It is actually a reflection. I took the photo through the wire on the safety cover on our fishpond. The photo is the reflection in the water of the cover with the reflection of the sky and clouds above it.

Does anyone else want to take a stab at this one. If not guessed in the next couple of days I will reveal the answer. Good luck!

No sorry nothing to do with our rabbits hutch - I think you have an advantage over other people though as you know me and my lifestyle. Keep trying - will reveal before too long. Getting some lovely comments in my gallery but I need some critisism (only constructive please).

??? Is it part of your Rabbit's pen?
Guest - Jul 25, 2005 12:02 AM EDT
Hi Mel, I'm sorry it's not a chicken pen. Have another go though - this one's not too difficult (at least I don't think it is)

Hi, Could this be a chicken pen - looking up to the roof of it????
