Water!

You are right, Vicki. It was close to noon. The light was brilliant. Maybe it's the layers. Sky and clouds on top, mountains below, then the water, and the desert green as the bottom layer. Most times of year, this would not have worked. We get the puffy white clouds in the spring. We get the greened up desert in the spring. And, this year, we are getting the water in the spring.

I'm not quite sure how you nailed this so well, Gary. In all honesty it looks close to the worst time of day for photography - high noon - yet somehow you got perfect shadows UNDER and it ties the whole thing into a most pleasing photo.

Thanks for the comments, Alandra and Carol. This shot was taken only two days ago and you are right, Carol. It is very peaceful out there. No sounds except for the wind. I really do love to get out there as much as possible.

Well, I do know that it is very beautiful where you are. I have not seen as much of B.C. as I'd like, though.

what a lovely scene! So different to our region, but each has it's own beauty. We do have scenery like this in some areas of our province tho', as you might know.
