Chriss:) Ann, I have looked on the under-side yes we have a number and a marking, I have done some researching on the internet but haven't found anything yet. Alandra, No it's not a Ginger Jar, the pattern is Viennese.

very nice, Chriss, and echoing the other comments. Am wondering if this is a Ginger Jar? The shape of the jar seems the same as some ginger jars I've seen, but am not sure about the design on it, as believe they are usually more Oriental patterned. not that I'm any expert on the subject :)

What a beautiful and ornate jar, Chriss. How wonderful that you have it as your's to treasure. I love viewing captures such as this. Are there markings on the bottom or numbers? It might be a clue to finding something about this most interesting piece.
