About This Image

Taken at the Venice (Florida) Rookery. This is a small 5 acre lake with a half acre island and hundreds of birds (mostly herons & egrets) in mating season. Spectacular. Lepp and Morris have photographs from there.

utterly beautiful. like a lovely angel. How far away were you, from the egret? Like the way you caught the shadow from the one wing, on inside of other wing. Was looking at a 20D last evening. This shot might have convinced me : ) - felt great in my hand --
