Thank you, Steve and Don. As we approached them I kept my camera lens at half-shutter, unsure of how long they would stay around. This pic shows that answer!

This is a great shot, Vicki! The movement in one bird is balanced by the "not-quite-movement" in the other, and together they give a real sense of the tension of something about to happen. This is a great example of "the decisive moment" in which content and composition reinforce eath other. Excellent.
