About This Image

This is a photo of a Tulip Tree, the state tree of Indiana. This one happens to sit on the property line between my house and my neighbors. It is HUGE! I have never seen another tulip tree as tall as this one. The bottom of the trunk is really large too. Our houses are over 100 years old, so I think this tree has been there just as long, if not longer.

Alandra - yes it does get flowers and should be getting them soon. I'll try to get some photos of them, but they are up do high that I might have to wait until the wind blows some down. It's not like the hardy magnolia trees that you are probably thinking of - those are around here too and are very pretty.

I agree. I like the branch tracery design also. Does it have flowers at some point? The trees we call tulip trees in this area are a type of magnolia, I believe, but have never seen one this size : )

Nice angle on the photo, It does show the height of the tree.
