Tugboats on the Hudson River

About This Image
Many tugboats on the Hudson River call Kingston, New York their 'home'. Barges still ply these waters, relying on the tugs to get them safely to their destinations, but these days most of the water traffic is for pleasure.
Several rowing clubs are located here and ice boat races are held on the river's frozen surface during the winter months. The nearby Maritime Museum is a great source for stepping back in time to get a feel of when Kingston was a major port and thriving summer retreat for city dwellers.
