About This Image

At a country fair in Western NY. This was in the "Toy" Tractor Pull event, with this guy trying hard but grinding to a halt as the shifting weight on the sled becomes too much to pull. I think he won the event.

What a wonderful photograph of a youngman having fun in the contest. Great expression on his face. Very enjoyable and well taken photograph.

Thanks for the comments! For those not familiar with tractor pull contests, this picture is of the "Toy" tractor division for kids, strictly pedal power. The top divisions are for the huge farm tractors, and down the line are the antique John Deeres and Farmalls, and a below that is a division for garden tractors and lawnmowers. Each has an appropriately sized "sled" to pull, all working on the same principal with a large weight geared to the wheels so it slides forward as it moves, putting progressively more weight on the sled runners to increase the pulling load. The farthest pull before stalling out or slipping wins. Fascinating to watch! I'll post another picture of one of the big players. Bruce
