About This Image

I liked the reflected colour on the marble floor from the Baptistry window and the rough texture of the font. The font is a 3 ton boulder from Bethlehem and has a scallop-shaped bowl hollowed out in the top.

This is a wonderful photo in every way. I returned to the US in July '63, but don't recall reading anything about Coventry Cathedral getting the unusual font at that time. Stunning.

Alandra, this is in the new Cathedral which was not built untill the 60s. It was placed there in 1963 I think.

to me, this is a prize winning shot! Beautiful. I wonder when the Font was placed at Coventry Cathedral, as don't recall seeing that when we were there, back in 1959. am sure I wouldn't forget seeing that beautiful scene.
