About This Image

The Gherkin is a 40-storey, diagonal steel structure, standing 180metres high (three times the height of Niagara falls).
It has a circular floor plan which widens as it rises from the ground and tapers towards it's apex.
The external glass covers 24,000 square metres-about the size of five football pitches-and despite it's shape has only one piece of curved glass.
It's 18 passenger lifts can transport 378 at one time, if you prefer to walk, each stairwell has 1,037 steps.

adminhey holli. we had a problem with our gas last night and could not open up but were stuck in the croner all night! we ate lots of yum buns and homeslice and got home in the end. so sorry we are getting it fixed asap. not on leather lane anymore but will always be at street feast and doing one day a week at eat street at kings cross. follow twitter for updates and hopefully see you soon!

Nice photo of different architectures. The Gherkin looks like it would like to take off to the Heavens. A Magnificant building.

Nice shot of a great building! I like the way the moped's colour mimics the sky and the reflections in some of the windows.
