About This Image

The Albaycin is the ancient muslim quarter of the city of Granada. Subsequently it was taken over by Christians, and now has several historic churches. Many of the houses however retain their traditional Islamic design.

Here the Albaycin is seen from the hill of the Alhambra Palace on the other side of the Darro river.

Thanks, Rumia. I'm glad you thought this might be a painting, as I deliberately composed it with echoes of a painter's vision.

What beautiful sights of the world you see. Your angle looks like you have found a hidden village beyond the garden :) Lovely shot

You caught the magic of Albaycin. I loved it. The beauty of the whole picture - I stood by the tall "birch looking" tree and drank in the beauty of the view of the Valley. For a few minutes I was there in the beauty of Granada. Thank you.

What a great view you've caught, the city looks like a place I'd love to be. I'm loving how the buildings seem to be almost all white with the deep green framing it! A very nice photo.
