As we headed home from our winer holiday in the Coramandel we stopped at this coastal area of Thames which is an old gold mining town.

Just to add to Steve and Anne's comments on the orange rock,this area is a gold mine so that would explain the color of this rocky out crop,I have found a large crystal with a light purple Amethist(sorry spelt wrong)vane running thru it along this beach-anyway apparently along side crystal gold is found in it's natural state,regards Vince(no gold found though)

Amazingly I saw the houses along the coast first. How did my eyes miss that marvelous, wonderful bright, eye-catching orange rock!! Also the sand was bright and in my favorite crescent site. I love the darkness you use to outline different sites. Maybe this is totally different than anything you thought as your picture came into being - but we each see different things in pictures, I think. A wonderful scene.

Great composition Vincent. I like the way that the slopes of the headlands echo that of the sandy shoreline in the foreground. And the orange rock colours are superb. Steve
