Thanks Mike and Carol. Yes, Mike, you're right. I should stick to what I know! Although, the background is supposed to be washed out as I was exposing for the dark bird; but when backlighting is this fierce it's hard to stop flare from degrading the subject.

steve you right they maybe an expert at birds etc but we all have to start somewhere.. the background a little washed out but the main focus was the swallow yes? i think if i dare to say that your fortay is buildings etc
