About This Image

This is the sunrise over Bayou St. John. Bayou St. John is the old route to get into New Orleans. There was a foot race today here. It was the Jackson Day Race. It is a 9k.

I was impressed at the pink and color of the sunrise and the reflection of it in the water. I hope you like it as much as I did. I realize a picture can only show a little of the true beauty but I hope it shows enough for you to get an idea of it.

I forgot to say the reason the Bayou was named St. John was John was Bienville's patron saint. Bienville was the founder of New Orleans.

What a beautiful sunrise. And the reflection equaled its beauty. I had been longing for a sunrise picture - we see so many of the sunsets. And a sunrise over the Bayou - that added to my appreciation of the picture. There was even a thrill in the name Bayou St. John. And New Orleans. Wish I could go there some time - just for the feeling it gives off.

yes, it does, Dudley. It must have been very beautiful in real life, - you were lucky to see that - the sky here is a lovely dappled or mottled shade of pink, and the reflection too.
