About This Image

radiance of lovely summer flowers, - "Painted tongue" is the most known name for these, or Salpiglossis, and Velvet flower is another name.
They have a lovely fluorescence on the petals, giving different "shadings". I tried to capture the "mauvey" edgings to the petals of this cluster of blooms, and they are also a mauve colour on the reverse side of petals. very pretty.

thanks Lorraine, happy you like them. Am quite fond of them myself, such a variety and blending of colours in each petal, plus some blooms have distinct "veining" in them. One of the NZ girls put a lovely image of these on her gallery last year, forget "who" now.

Hi Alex D and Beverly, many thanks for the nice comments. They do look quite "painted" don't they, as well as sorta glowing.
