this unusual flower appeared atop one of our foxglove plants. It seems to be an open form of the usual tubular foxglove flowers, - inside this top flower, there are a couple of the more usual type of foxglove flower.
We've had these plants for several years, - believe they re-seed themselves, - but don't recall seeing this type of flower at the top of the plant before.

I have one growing in my garden right now with something very similar. Maybe it's one of those mutant alien foxgloves.

Alandra, it is very interesting, there are so much kinds of one genus. Thank you for sharing, of a foxgloves it looks really strange.

thanks Alex. Yeah, can't recall seeing one of these flowers here before, but think I've seen either a photo of one like it, or seen a flower like it growing "someplace". but can't recall where.
