About This Image

Taken on the jetty near the former Alameda Naval Air Station. Storm was coming in. Wind and cold were frightful and not a fisherman would brave the weather, just this obsessed photographer.

Despite the nasty weather, came home with a smile on my face.

The jetty is about a mile long, extending beyond the ships you see on the right side of the photo. The jetty is only "paved" for the first hundred yards. After that, you have to jump from rock to rock. Sometimes it can be a little tricky, but a lot of fishermen take the trip out to find a good fishing spot.

Great shot Pinetree. I love the way the stone pier leads your eye towards the horizon. The sky is a little blown out by the white areas. But I could feel the sea or ocean water hitting the rocks. Great shot.

A great cloudscape Alex.It looks like a long walk to the end of that jetty.
