yes, it's interesting hearing about the various zones and what grows where. I did realize about the different varieties of plants you can grow in your area, (they always sound so exotic) - but it never dawned on me that the spring bulbs like tulips and daffodils etc wouldn't grow there :) I would miss the spring flowers too.

Tulips, like a lot of other plants and trees, need a cold season. Here in Florida, we can grow a lot of tropical plants that don't do well in most places, but we can't grow anything that needs a cold season. I grew up in Illinois, so I miss the flowers I grew up with.

thankyou Marsha Sea. It wasn't until I joined this group that I realized not every area can grow tulips. Having seen them all my life, I thought they grew "everywhere".
