About This Image

I've been watching this spider for about 6 weeks now. It's been staying around one corner of my house, where it used to sit in the mornings to warm up in the sun and then hunt. I watched it mate about a month ago. Since then it has built a silken retreat under the corner of the siding and now I rarely see it out in the open. I suspect it has laid eggs and is guarding them. It does sit at the entrance of its retreat, though, and I managed to get this picture this afternoon. Phidippus borealis

Looks a bit sad and lonely. Needs the spiderlings to hatch and cheer it up :)
