This is 4.30am on the beach at Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia. I couldn't believe the sun rose so early.

We've just been back over to the Gold Coast in the last week or so. I suddenly realised that the sunset's are often the same colour. The reds, pinks and oranges are eclipsed by this soft creamy yellow.

In the middle of summer the sun rises at 3.30am here! I am pretty far north though.
