A beautiful Florida Redbelly soaking up the sunshine. They often come up to the road from the creek to try and lay eggs on the shoulders of the road. But since it's been paved, it's more difficult for them.

I live on a quiet circle, and thank goodness for that because they are fair game for motorists who
have no regard for the poor turtles. They even aim for them out of pure meanness.

Here in NJ we also have turtles that are losing their natural habitat to human development. I enjoy your shot of this turtle in the sun!
