Hi Lesley, my daughter lived in Ashburton for a while then moved up to Methvern, they managed Alpenhorn ski lodge for a couple of years, they ended up at Mt Hut Station for a while then headed to North Otago. They love the mountains tramping, SAR, She is Taranaki Born , her partner is south Island born, it's a great way to see the south, I never would have done it had she not moved there, the country is so beautiful down there, we have two little southern grandaughters down there now also.

I was born in Ashburton, then moved to Nelson. A real "mainlander".

Oh boy that looks really nippy. Lovely photo though. I miss the South Island sooooo much :-( This pic makes me feel so homesick.
