About This Image

Two boat salesmen freed this brown pelican when I told them how it was trapped. It was able to fly free, but landed on the pier and tried to rid itself of the remaining line and fish hook which the men were unable to reach. This was the companion image featured in both the Ft Myers paper and on WINT-TV.

I agree, Karen. If you look close on the left side of the body, near the wing's join, you can see the hook still embedded.
