About This Image

Heading back towards the truck after leaving the ferry in New Jersey I was intrigued by all the activity this image carried.

A cruise ship quietly sails down the Hudson River, en route to the Atlantic.

A wedding party hurries to catch their boat for a lavish reception on Ellis Island.

Miss Gateway, the ferry we crossed on lies quietly along the quay.

Local policemen watch diligently as day trippers continue their outings.

Hikers leave the Ferry building.

A drawing shows a proposed memorial park soon to be added, across the river from where the Twin Towers stood.

Theoretically, this is a rather busy image - but I like it for its diversity.

Thank you, Beverly - there's so much in it that it almost reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle challenge, or 'Where's Waldo"! I just enjoyed all the livelinness of the area it portrayed. Vicki

Great shot of the hustle and bustle of a busy city.

Hi Alandra - Hi Don. Thank you both for your comments. We never did get to The Big Apple itself - but I sure enjoyed the vistas from the ferry. I just liked how all the elements blended so well together here - the bride and groom would have been icing - but at least I was able to keep two members of the wedding party! Vicki

great image, Vicki, and interesting also. My daughter and my "grand" were in NYC recently and had a wonderful time, and your photo reminded me of some of theirs. Lots to keep one entertained in this image.

Hi Mary. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Even more pleased you saw it the way I did - so much activity. I missed getting the bride and groom in the image as I was waiting for the cruise ship to get in the right spot. I-78 takes you within a few blocks of the Ferry Building at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Parking's only $5 for the day. I spent about $36 for two ferry tickets and two audio tour tickets (which we used at both monuments). Worth every penny. Vicki

Vicki, wonderful capture! Very interesting. Makes me wish it was larger so I could get a good look at what is going on. I really like it and the frame is perfect...doesn't draw my attention or focus from the photo.
