About This Image

While prowling the grounds of the Wrigley Mansion, in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, I came across this little-used outdoor stairway. It looked like it belonged somewhere else. Everything at the mansion was in top shape except this stairway. As I climbed it, I noticed that it was littered with small pebbles and leaves. My conclusion was that it was not meant for guests. It was not in a place that was easily seen. If I hadn't been poking around, looking for photo ops, I never would have found it.

My conclusion was that these stairs had been pretty much abandoned.

I hurried up the stairs, because I wanted to get inside quickly before the wedding ceremony started.

Thanks A. Lovely. As I climbed those stairs, I wondered if Mr. Wrigley had ever climbed them himself. He had so many mansions in so many places, I doubt that he ever did.

How wonderful these stairs. Yes, in disrepair but made for a purpose. You captured a very interesting photo. Rocks are so wonderful whether in perfect places or in disrepair and with a story behind their existance.

I was glad I found it. One of my favorite places at the mansion.

can see what you mean, Gary, it does look like it belongs in the Secret Garden story, more than at the mansion. Nevertheless, it was great that you discovered the steps, and the photo is pleasing.
