Guest - Oct 20, 2005 01:52 AM EDT Alandra, maybe our scillia are different to yours. Sounds strange but it can happen as I know that our blue-bells are nothing like these. Only the colour is the same. I think we should just leave this one in peace :-) Or.............I could take my photo into a local gardening shop and see what they say.
Guest - Oct 19, 2005 04:01 AM EDT lol, Lulu, that's the thing, -- it says in one of my plant books, that "scilla" is another name for "bluebell". But these don't look like any bluebells that I've ever seen. very puzzling, and even moreso since Vince has mentioned the flowers being as big as 2 fists. mystery flower : )
Guest - Oct 19, 2005 01:01 AM EDT Hi Vince. When I wasn't sure what these were, I showed the nursery-man at a local park the photo that I have in my gallery and he said they were scilia. They are certainly pretty.
Guest - Oct 19, 2005 12:53 AM EDT Thank you Carol,Karen and Alandra very nice comments not sure exactly what they are now, the leaves are the only thing that look the same, some of them are as big as two fists put together.
Guest - Oct 17, 2005 09:30 PM EDT pretty shot, Vince. Intriguing is right, too : ) That's not what the bluebells we know are like, tho', -- from what I can see here, these flowers have a totally different formation on the stems. Am wondering if we will ever get this mystery solved : )
