Thanks km. The tree is a mesquite. Very common here on the desert. The wood is very good as a barbeque fuel. A mesquite barbequed steak is fabulous!

It is a mesquite tree. They are quite common here. The wood is great for barbequeing meat. Wonderful taste.

Thanks km. The tree is a mesquite. Quite common here on the desert. They are very very tough. We keep getting mesquite shoots coming up all over our yard. I have to keep trimming them off. Meat that has been barbequed with mesquite wood is heavenly.

Thanks Alex. I haven't been down that way since I took this shot. It is not on the main highway between Phoenix and Tucson. Now that we will be getting into the cooler weather again, I need to plan another trip down that back road. I always like the back roads better than the freeways anyway.
