About This Image

Saltair is a failed attempt at a theme park on the shore of the Great Salt Lake.

The lake's water level changes almost every year, which causes anything along the shore to either be underwater or hundreds of feet away from the water. The Great Salt Lake used to have a nice beach, and people would swim in the lake; however, the beach was mostly destroyed a few years back and nobody goes there anymore.

The building is now mostly ruined, but a silhouette hints at what once was and what could have been.

Thanks. I intentionally made the image dark, yet light enough to leave some of the detail of the building. It's been storming here the last few days. For some reason, it almost always storms over weekend of Memorial Day (the US holiday where we celebrate the dead). I live in a desert so storms are somewhat rare.

Ahh here's a moody broody one. It's dark but the lines are few and simple, and I like that the soft sky shows through the window.
