The River Great Ouse rises in Northamptonshire and wends its way across East Anglia to meet the sea at The Wash. It is 150 miles in length and this photograph was taken in Bedfordshire, in the county town of Bedford.

PaulGray, When I opened this photograph to a larger picture, I said, "Oh my". Anne is so right about her discription of your capture. The tranquile water, the swans, the trees boughing down there branches toward the water, do make for a beautiful photograph and certainly an enjoyable place to visit.

Thank you, Lady Anne. After taking the picture I continued my cycle ride along an old railway line (Railroad) for some six miles and at several places the river and railway ran as neighbours.

So beautiful and serene!! The sidewalk following the gentle curve of the River. The trees so lovely as they came right down to edge of River. What a wonderful place to just sit and gaze - and meditate. Beautiful!!
