Hi Don, Really super photo of the Cardinal. You sure can't beat the afternoon or morning sun for bringing out colors. Great Job!!

Thanks for telling me about the saturation Don. You're right, I would never have believed you! We don't get birds like that in England, so forgive my ignorance in asking, but how big are they?

Superb shot. Such a deep red.

That is a redbird that you really notice. Must be what they call "A blaze of color!" I think they make people happier just by their brightness. Great shot!!!

sure will, Don (trade a few stellers infact, for one cardinal :) I've said the same to Carol.

Thanks Carol and Alandra. I think your Cardinal shots are great Carol, the females are'nt very colorful. I'm sad you don't see cardinals Alandra. I'll trade you 2 cardinal for 1 Stellers...lol. Thanks again, Don

Wow, he's gorgeous! Great shot, Don! I'd love to see a cardinal, no matter how drab they might be :) I agree, that certain late afternoon lighting and sun does or can enhance the colouring, have noticed it with several of my heron shots and the steller's jays.

What a gorgeous bird, mine looks drab next to this beautiful red guy.I havent seen ours for a couple days and I do watch for him or her, mine might just be a female. Great photo! Carol

Thanks Mary and Steve, I haven't be able to get on the computer much in the last couple of days. I'm way behind on leaving comments, I'll catch soon up I hope. Steve, you won't believe me when I tell you. I did fool with the saturation on this one, I too OFF 5%. His color was and still is unbelievable. I think it was the afternoon light. It was late afternoon and very bright out with a clear sky. He was facing directly into the sun. There were 2 males there and they were both this bright. Thanks again, Don

Best cardinal so far!! Are you sure you didn't play with the saturation, even a little bit?!
