Members of the Leung's White Crane (a martial arts school located in San Francisco's Chinatown district) prepare to start the lion dance on the street.

Three lion's head are laid out and the music begun. Moments after this photo was taken performers don their costumes and begin the dance which lasts for about 1/2 hour. The dance starts off on the inside of a local bank and then moves back out to the street. It culminates with a acrobatic display where a lion performs stunts on four tall posts.
