Guest - May 21, 2007 02:55 PM EDT thanks Beverly, - I thought the same thing, as have found some flowers to be, when the many florets are close together, as in the Rhododendrons.
Guest - May 21, 2007 07:37 AM EDT Nice job with the lilacs, I find them hard to photograph.
Guest - May 19, 2007 02:58 AM EDT happy you liked the lilac photo, Marsha Sea, - am surprised they don't grow in California and Florida. It is a lovely scent. Years ago, I had a perfume called Lilas by Dralle, - and it was a "heavenly" scent. I've never been able to find that perfume again. Not sure if it was German or French perfume. The bottle was in a small container something like a rounded bee hive/kep. But I believe Lilas is the French word for Lilac.
Guest - May 18, 2007 08:43 PM EDT Beautiful photo. I love lilacs. I wish I could smell them through the computer. I grew up in Illinois, and we had lilacs in our backyard. Then I moved, first to California, and then to Florida, and you cannot grow lilacs in either of those climates. I haven't smelled lilacs in over 20 years, but I can still remember their lovely fragrance. Thanks for the memory.
