About This Image

We recently visited a wild life rescue center, and this is a shot of all the prosthetics that were made for an eagle. The bird had part of it's beak shot off, and these are all the experimental devices that were made to try and save it's beak, and ultimatley his life.

Thank you for sharing this interesting image and purpose, Golda. It's wonderful that we can help wildlife in such a manner - but I'm definitely with Steve on his comment. Vicki

Golda, this must be a contender for most bizarre subject of the year award! :) What a weird species we are: half of us are going to these extraordinary lengths to help a single wild creature, whilst the other half are busy poisoning, shooting, and destroying the habitats of millions of other creatures. Very frustrating!

I have watched programs on "Animal Planet" where they have to rebuild a bird's or turtle's beak. Sometimes dentists help. Very interesting thing to see. Thanks for sharing.
