Guest - Apr 11, 2007 10:53 PM EDT How neat is that! Two relatives were lighthouse keepers at Portland Head Light? Aren't you fortunate to have that in your life history! I'll check it out - thanks - Vicki
Guest - Apr 11, 2007 08:43 PM EDT Thanks all for the lovely comments.
Vicki I dont know if the assistant lived there or not.Nobody has lived there for years its all automated and is really just a tourist attraction now.
Years ago two of my relatives were Lighthouse keepers there.
Brizilla Delano and a James Delano.
It really is the prettiest Lighthouse in Maine.
You can do a google search. Just type in Portland Headlight and there is lots of history on this Lighthouse.
Guest - Apr 11, 2007 05:17 PM EDT I would certainly volunteer to be a light house keeper just to live in the house, mind you there may be a few ship wrecks!!
Guest - Apr 11, 2007 04:51 PM EDT I really like this one, very nice colours even if it looks like a bit of a dull day, very nice image.
Guest - Apr 11, 2007 02:51 PM EDT I agree with Vicki....my favorite of the Portland Headlight. Beautiful composition.
Guest - Apr 11, 2007 02:43 PM EDT What a great looking light station.Very different to what you see on the west coast. Thanks for this look at your side of the world.
Guest - Apr 11, 2007 02:04 PM EDT I like this one even better than the broader landscape Carol. That one is the more typical shot, but this one gives a more intricate look at the beautiful architecture. The way the lighthouse keeper's house is designed I get the impression that the assistant may have lived there too. Yes or no? Vicki
