These are a pale pink variety of peonies. Oh do they smell good too.

Peonies thrive in any well-drained, good, rich garden soil. Plant them in full sunlight.

in some areas they are also known as the Memorial Day flower. intersting little fact as these had buds and were ready to bloom on Memorial day :)

what beauties! I think they are Sarah Bernhardt peonies. Ours vanished, no sign of them this summer, strange huh, was just commenting on this yesterday.
