This guy is of the Brushfoot family. (phyciodes tharos), their food supply is mainly of the Aster family.

this is also one of the most abundant butterflies.
their habitat is generally open spcaes,meadows, fields, streams sides and along roadsides. I see these guys all the time. Fast movers as well.

Beautiful wing pattern, although his wings are a little tattered. Looks like it has brrn through a lot.
