You know, and this is slightly freaky, that as soon as I saw this image I thought that this boy was not American. Please don't ask me why, as I haven't the faintest idea! But a great shot, for all the reasons that Alan has eloquently pointed out.

Thanks Alan.Ah,yes our lost youth.He had been swimming in the river that is close by.He is a little boy that always seems lost in a world all of his own.He is visiting here from Germany,and is in love with our dog Beau.It is such a joy to see that Norman Rockwell like, relationship that they share.

Oh to be young and skinny again. Great photo that reminded me of my growing years. Funny how time slips away before you know it. Wonderful composition and low view point, colors, focusing, and exposure. I also like that he is wet from swimming?. This photo tells a great story how ever you want to view it.
