On my way to the huge pomona RV show to get a return unit to take to Oregon I stopped to watch the seagulls at a rest area north of Pomona CA

This is beautiful. I like how you captured top and bottom perspectives. I agree that it would make a great photo illustration for a bird book.

Hi Alex from Alameda - I'm originally from SF so love your photos for location as well as in their own merit! I agree - not sure just how I caught these two, let alone the back detail - went through a lot of blurs that morning! But was tickled when this one hit spot on. You'll get there. The camera I used really isn't conducive to this type of shot, but there were many children about feeding them so I took my chances.

Great shot. It can be very difficult to get a good shot of a seagull in flight. I have been trying to do that recently, with dissapointing results. They move throught the light, so your settings need to change. In addition, unless they are hovering, it is quite difficult to keep them in the viewfinder for the shot. Keep it up.
