I think this is brilliant! Although I'm generally a fan of tight cropping, I'm not sure I agree with OB in this case. I think you've left enough around the owl to let it "breathe".

Hi Fella beautiful close-up you have here almost excellent, there is one small circle that you could have cloned out & cropped a little tighter on each side, but then these are just my opinion.
