On this occasion I disagree with Alandra since I think the smooth metal is adding to the mix of textures which is what makes this image for me. So, yes, it adds!

I can see what you mean with the metal I have a lot of shots from this building, and I like this one with the metal, I think the rustiness adds to the idea of dilapidation. I tried to compose it almost like a still life, and i felt the metal adds rather than spoils. any more thoughts?

I love this image. As someone with a few pictures of abandoned buildings, it's definitely up my alley. I can see Alandra's point of taking away the metal on the wall, but at the same time, I think it adds to the charm of an old, worn out building. Great job.

I agree, very nice image. Think I'd be tempted to remove the pieces of metal attached to the wall, just above the foliage, tho' :)
