This is an oak tree that is at the Chalmette Battlefield, near where the actual best known battle of New Orleans took place. I was glad to see such vibrant life there.

Thanks!! This tree would have a lot to say indeed. It probably saw a lot of reenactments and the Beaureguard family. It would be cool indeed if this tree could talk.

Thanks for the comments. Just beyond this area lies the mighty Mississippi. I almost named the picture the mighty oak by the mighty Mississippi but since you can not see the river, I went with its present name.
