About This Image

This road is on Arizona State Trust Land, north of Tucson. The entire area is fenced off, but I found an access road that I wasn't supposed to take, but I took it anyway. This road goes off into a huge expanse of very wild desert. No one at all lives out here. I don't know of anyplace where the cholla are as thick as they are out here. You couldn't walk 5 feet off into the desert without getting stuck pretty badly.

In my last comment it is supposed to say SE AZ, not SE AX (southeast Arizona) Also, it is Sierra Vista, not Siearra Vista. I should have read it before I posted it.

Thanks folks. Yes, we see a lot of hummingbirds in AZ. I had never heard that Sedona is a special place for them, but that could be. I think the highest concentration is in SE AX. There is a place, near Siearra Vista, called Ramsey Canyon, that is famous for all kinds of birds. I want to do some more poking around down in that area. Some parts are absolutely wild!

Glad to see I am not the only one who walks in areas that maybe they should not. This is a good road shot.

enjoyed hearing about this adventure, Gary. Meant to ask you, do you see lots of hummingbirds where you live? Know there are some areas in AZ where people go to see them, - Sedona? think that's one area.

Great shot, I like it. I also enjoy getting off the beaten path too.
