About This Image

Caught this rider one evening after a shoot. I had stopped by the side of the road, when this large group of riders came by. I caught this one separate from the rest of the group. Generaly, way too noisy for any picture I would keep, but this one has a unique look that I really like.

Thank you. I took this photo about two years ago, and have toyed with posting it. As time has gone on, the shot has grown on me, and I felt compelled to share it. Have to agree with the sense of loneliness, danger and I would add committment/passion/dedication of the rider to train in this setting. In fact, the background is the Port of Oakland. It is a good place to ride at night since there is almost no activity on these wide open streets at night.

The solitary rider on the big expanse of road and the harshness of the lighting gives a sense of loneliness and a little danger to the image. Any cars or other riders would have spoiled the effect. A very cool image!!
