About This Image

The flamboyant doorway to the Natural History Museum. Neo-gothic usually looked to early english (14th-15th century) and later mediaeval styles for its inspiration, but on this occasion earlier norman architecture (11th-12th century)was the model.

late again, but am glad to have finally found this one. Love the muted colouring of the bricks, - well, the entire "doorway" is wonderful.

Good description of the doorway. Like your use of "flamboyant". Good shot showing off the doorway. Beautiful masonry.
