thankyou for the comments Don, Janice, Alan and Carol. Not to worry, we watch them all pretty closely : ) and this morning I saw a parent feeding a baby sparrow, it was sitting right next to the parent on the feeder, so am sure all is well. There was more than one youngster on the quince bush yesterday, but this one seemed youngest, - I was judging by the beak and the yellow area around the base of it. Hubby was even out there this morning, chasing the neighbour cat away with the garden hose lol. And there's 2 brand new feeders hanging on the pole, with nice fresh food in. All will be well, am sure : )

I am also starting to feel bad for this. What will happen to him? Is there a place someone could call to get it some help. It is a beautiful shot nonetheless.

Yea.. I'm also now feeling bad for the little guy. I hope you gave him some seeds for posing for ya :) Another great photo!!

I'm starting to feel bad for this little guy Alandra. Maybe he should do like Tom Hanks did on that Island, and draw a face on the quince so he can have a pal to hang around with :-). Very nice capture, Don
